Newton - Supercharged emailing App Reviews

Not quite there yet

I love the iOS app but the Mac version is buggy and lacking. I find myself still opening Mail when I need to search for an email that isn’t in my inbox. I still haven’t been able to make CloudMagic my default email client even after contacting support. I can’t delete email from the notification center when a new email pops up. Support for cards (Evernote) is not on the Mac version like it is iOS. I had to switch back to Mail for the time being until some of this gets worked out. I am sure they will though….

Good. Could be Great

All that is needed in my opinion are the app integrations seen on the iOS. Gotta get those finished. This prgram is beautiful and my inbox is very close to zero at all times. It could be a zero IF YOU WOULD CREATE THE INTEGRATIONSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More like a beta version - mobile apps are more developed

I really like Cloudmagic on iOS and was happy to find a Mac version had been developed. But seriously, the developers should have given this version away, or charged way less for it until it gets up to speed. PROS The interface is clean and intuitive. It works seamlessly with Gmail, including with Gmail labels and aliases. You can add as many email accounts as you like Syncs quickly across all devices if you sign in with a Cloudmagic account and turn on syncing Has selective sync of folders/labels (you can choose what to sync, or not) CONS There are no cards for integrating the Mac version with programs such as Evernote and Asana There is no ‘save to’ option, in fact, there is no option to save or export at all. The only way to get email out of the Mac version is to issue a print command, and then “PDF” then “save as PDF to …” from there. Or the old command C. You cannot create a new gmail label from within Cloudmagic (on any version as far as I can tell) I know from reading the Cloudmagic blog that they are working on updates that will include the integration features that define this app on mobile devices. $20 seems a lot to pay for a 60% developed app. I expect it will get better and will eventually deserve 5 stars.

design AND function

keeps getting better and better. thanks for the ⌘F feature within emails!

So far so good

It seems to have potential, only time will tell if can fulfill it’s potential.

Really love it

I have dropped using Apple Mail for this. I use it on my MacBook Pro, also on my iPad Pro and my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. I didn’t mind paying the 20 bucks for the app, however I definitley would like to see more functionality. Thanks for a great service and application I look forward to future updates and features.

I never write - but here I need to

I love this email app. I use this and Boxy. If THIS app had “snooze” abilities. I would never use Boxy again. Great app … I use it on all devices until I need snooze. Then I switch to inbox, or Boxy when I’m on my mac. Great job guys … but PLEASE add snooze and I’d love to change my rating to a 5 star. :)

Please please please add Pull-To-Refresh

First of all, this app is AMAZING. I like the notification feature, which can keep my inbox up to date. I like the GUI, it’s simple, it’s beautiful. BUT Please please please add Pull-To-Refresh Please please please add Pull-To-Refresh Please please please add Pull-To-Refresh It’s very odd that this app has such a easy way to go back(by click blank), but I have to click that tiny button in the right bottom corner. Especially when the new email comes in and window is closed but app is still in background, after I click the notification which reopen the window, it DOESN’T refresh automatically. Which means I HAVE TO CLICK ON THAT TINY REFRESH BOTTON more often than you think! So please add a Pull-To-Refresh gesture, at least add a switch! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

Good but needs improvement

I love simple UIs as much as the next person, however I find that the simplicity of this app on the MAC is actually getting in the way. Let me explain what I mean… I get a lot of emails on 2 different accounts and I find that with the single page list view, I have to keep clicking in an out of each email to navigate different emails. I know that I can use the arrow keys to go to the next or previous email, but that’s not what I need to do 80% of the times I am navigating. I need to look at a bunch of emails that are scattered in the list because they are relevant to the task I am doing, or I left some of them unread for me to consume later because they are less important and now to navigate between emails it takes double the number of clicks. I would prefer the option of showing the reading pane to the right of the list. It is difficult to notice the new unread emails because of the subtle difference between the bold text and unbolded text. Why not use the blue dot like on the iOS app? It’s the standard for apple products anyway. It needs to support reading of signed emails with attachements over exchange. It needs to allow me to sign my emails over exchange. I can’t use it for my corporate email because it is missing this functionality. Signed email support for exchange is also needed on iOS by the way. I love the beautiful look and feel and it’s simplicity but I really need the features I just mentioned for me to use it full time.

Clod magic emailapp.

This application is functionally quite good and I like it. However the view needs some coloring to make it more appealing! Adams Okoene

great but needs a lot more work

i was using airmail for a while and i really liked everything about it except for one thing - it wasnt working. lol. cloudmagic on the other hand works flawlessly but it still needs so much more work when it comes to functionality and customization. there are fundamental things missing - like grouping emails into conversations for non gmail accounts - that are an absolute must these days. however, tech support is great and i have no doubt that soon this app will be the best

Simple and easy to use

I’ve been using the iPhone app for about a month now and have nothing but great things to say about it. It’s simple, easy to use, and it works. I had a lot of trouble getting all of email accounts to work with a single email client until CloudMagic, but so far so good. The same can be said about the Mac app. I’ve been using it for about two weeks now. At first $20 seemed like way too much for something I didn’t use religously, but figured if I love the mobile app, the Mac one should be the same. I love the design and only hope that they continue to improve both versions, and hopefully release a Windows version in the near future, as I still haven’t found anything I like. I don’t need any special abilities with email, and CloudMagic has provided everything I need right now. Well done.

Our First Step in the Desktop Space

This was the response from CloudMagic when questioned why the $19.99 version of their app has few of the features found in their free IOS version. Buyers should be aware there is no intregation with 3rd party apps such as Evernote. One would expect that a paid app would be at least as feature rich as its free counterpart.

CloudMagic

The customer service is beyond outstanding! E-mails are answered and help offered within the same day!

Very disappointing

Disappointed to spend $20 on this app only to find that there’s no ability to customize the font while composing an email? Even the most basic (and free) programs I’ve tried have this capablity. This allows you only to bold/itcalizie, not customize the actual font. I guess my mistake for not checking that first, but I never dreamed that would be considered a “feature,” I assumed it was a default capability for OS X apps, especially the paid ones! Along those same lines, the signature options are disappointing. Yes, you can upload HTML (which you can do with most mail programs), but there’s no other customization options—I’m not even able to add a hyperlink to my website, which makes my signature mostly useless. The rest of the app is merely “okay.” Yes, it’s a clean design, but for the price, I expected more customization options in the overvall layout/colors, etc. For example, I manage 3 inboxes, and I can’t find a way to have the sidebar show all the time (as opposed to being auto-hide), so every time I want to quickly see how many emails I have in a particular account, I have to move the mouse to “hover” over the sidebar. Also, no “send and archive” option—another “feature” I’ve seen included in almost every other mail program I’ve tried. I apprecaite what Cloudmagic is trying to do, and eventually I think it can be really great, but no way is it ready for prime-time, much less $19.99. By far the most ripped off I’ve ever felt on an App Store purchase, and I’ve made plenty. I’ll be sticking with Airmail.

Push notifications

It’s not a power user’s app. But it connects to just about any email account, works reliably, and I get push notifications for email even after quitting the app. That’s more than I can say for many other email applications I’ve tried.

I just have to give respect to CloudMagic!

All I can say is: finally! An email program that just works flawlessly and easily on every device I have, is totally without clutter, has quick shortcuts to do all the key stuff and absolutely makes my email experience more happy, fun, productive and efficient. No more disparate webmail clients over various browsers, no more Apple Mail config and keychain issues (eek) and no more looking for an email client - I am done, I am home! Developers - Please don’t listen to all the naysayers who just want to clutter things up again, keep it minimal simple and if you add bells and whistles when necessary, keep them out of my way, options to include are good… if you want them. I don’t! For my purposes as full-time Internet entrepreneur, this inbox is stellar. The price is totally fair, I wouldn’t raise it but wouldn’t lower it either. I want you guys to stay in business! Thanks for making my email experience a smiley affair:) Rock on!

Simple & Quick, but needs more features!

Cloudmagic is a very quick and response email client. However, it is in dire need of some basic functions, namely signatures. It’s irritating that the default signature is “via CloudMagic for Mac”. I often end up deleting it, but I need to be able to send messages with my own professional and academic signatures.

Another update & still no basic functionality

I will NOT use this mail app even though I love the interface because when I delete an email, I expect it to go automatically to the next email. Why is this so difficult to program? I wait for every update but the programmers obviously don’t use their own app because if they did; they would fix it!

Great improvements

Really like the new sidebar keyboard shortcut. This latest version also fixed a strange bug where thin, vertical lines would remain over the UI after opening and closing the sidebar.
